Shape-Ups Shoes for Women

Updated on February 12, 2015

Shape Up with The Right Pair of Shoes

Buying My First Skechers Sneakers

I recently bought my first pair of Skechers Women's Shape-Ups Sneakers. I am not one to spend a lot of money. If I spend $30 on a pair of shoes, I cringe. So spending $100 on a pair of shoes took a great amount of debating. I have heard and read the commercials for these fitness shoes. Many articles have been written on the benefits of these sneakers. To top it off, my husband knows some people from work who wear Skechers and swear by them.

I have had feet problems since my daughter was born. She is a college student now. If fact I have given her a complex on how my body has taken a turn for the worse since having the baby.

I love to walk. When I was younger, I had joined many walk-a-thons. Before the baby, it was nothing to put in a ten mile walk on the weekends.

The day before my daughter was born; I bought a new pair of slippers for the hospital. They were a size 5 and my feet had plenty of room. The moment after she was born, a nurse grabbed my new slippers for me to put on. Guess what? They didn’t fit. It was like one of Cinderella’s stepsisters putting her large foot in the small glass slipper.

When I tell people that my feet grew 1 1/2 to 2 sizes bigger the day I had my baby, they just shake their head in disbelief.

Since that day, have seen a podiatrist off an on over the years for treatment on my feet. I have heal spurs and spurs top of my feet. My foot pain has often been on the bottom of my feet and I have been told at these particular times that I have torn or pulled ligaments. (The stress and pressure of giving birth stretched and torn the ligaments in my feet.) Everyday I live with foot pain.

The day I walked into the shoe store and tried on a pair of Skechers, my feet went “Oh yeah!” It is still to early to tell, but these shoes feel real good. They even come with a DVD. My feet don’t hurt while wearing them. I will have to keep you posted.

Note: They come in men's styles too.

Skechers Shape-Ups are designed to:

  • Promote weight loss
  • Strengthen the back
  • Firm calf and buttock muscles
  • Reduce cellulite and tone your thighs
  • Increase cardiovascular health

Ladies Men Need Skechers Too

One Month Update

Since I have had these shoes for a little over a month now, I have to say, "I love them!"

They do take a bit to get use to starting out. Every time I walk I feel like my legs are getting a good workout. And my heals don't hurt (when I am wearing them).

Only drawback is that the heal on the shoes are higher than I had been use to, which means I have some high water pants on when I walk.
