Write Down your Affirmations

There are many different diets waiting to slim down you pocketbook. The fact is, most of these don’t work. The juice diet, cabbage diet, South Beach diet, Mediterranean Diet, the Zone, Slim-Fast, the grapefruit diet, and on and on. Okay, a couple of these listed do work, but only if you stay with them for life. Once you are off a diet, it is a matter of time before you gain it all back and then some. I know because I have been a yo-yo dieter. I was on the Akins diet several years back. It was the only diet that seemed to work. But like all other diets, it takes a certain amount of self discipline. If you miss one day of the diet, your body takes a major setback. Akins is a diet that needs to be done for life otherwise the weight goes back on.

This is true with all diets. Most of us will go on a diet and lose the weight. Once we are comfortable with our bodies, we will stop dieting and continue back to the weight gain. This is called the yo-yo diet.

How do you overcome the yo-yo dieting?

How do you stay on a weight loss regime and have the discipline to not return to unhealthy habits?

It is not as easy as it sounds. First you need to change you way of thinking. Release you negative energies. Gain positive thoughts. A positive mind releases positive energy.

Set some time out for yourself and write down your affirmations on paper. Begin with your main goal in mind. “I want to lose 20 pounds in 30 days.” Or “I want to lose enough weight to fit in that wedding dress I wore 5 years ago.”

Once you set down your main plan of action on paper, start over with re-programming your mind. Never say, “I want…” because you will always be wanting. Wanting to lose those 20 pounds is something in the future and far out of reach. Negative energies of you subconscious know this. Trick your mind into believing you are 20 pounds lighter.

If your desired weight is 120 pounds, then you need to “be” 120 pounds “in your mind” from the moment you make the decision to change your self talk. Re-write your affirmation to read something like this: “I am healthy, fit and weighing 120 pounds.”

Your subconscious is a powerful tool. Successful hypnosis has helped many people. Before I had my daughter I didn’t take Novocain at the dentist office. I used self-hypnosis to put myself in another place and it worked. Positive affirmation is the same way. Tell you subconscious that you already fit in that wedding dress and your body will do the rest.

I admit it isn’t easy if you hold on to that negative energy. Many of us are by nature that way. I am one of them and I am saying to myself, “I am a positive person.”

Every day, write down at least one affirmative plan. More if you can. Write one that reflects your new exercise program. “I enjoy my healthy new exercise program.” Or “I love the healthy foods I eat.”

Continue on this way and you will be sure to reach your goal.
