Far Out Retro Designs

Retro designs on iPhone cases are so far out. Neon art, smiley faces, Pop Art, piece signs all have a story to be told. History repeats itself when it comes to art and fashion. Bringing back a simpler time of the 50s and 60s and or the funky 70s and 80s through art can be seen on these iPhone cases. This is something all old-timers love to see and reminisce about the good old days. It is an art that the younger generation think is awesome too.

Neon is colorful lights with a dark background and also bright colors are considered neon. More information on a history of retro art can be found on iPad Cases and History of Retro Art found here on HubPages. There you can read about neon art, history of Pop Art and who made the yellow smiley face famous.

Retro shouldn't be mistaken with vintage. Retro is less than 100 years and more commonly associated within the last 50 or 60 years. Vintage is more than 100 years. Though artwork on Zazzle is unclear about this with many shopkeepers calling both as vintage, with myself included on a few items that date back to the early 1920s, saying it is vintage is easier.

An iPhone would make a wonderful gift during the holidays or for any special occasion. To protect the iPhone from scratches and to give it a groovy look, the blast from the past iPhone cases should please everyone.

Shown here are retro iPhone 4G cases by Sandyspider on Zazzle. Identical designs are available for the iPhone 3G as well. Just visit through my shop link and see for yourself at on Zazzle.com under iPhone cases Sandyspider.

Amazon has funky iPhone cases shown here too.

If You Were A Hippy, Then You Are Retro

The hippie movement began as early as the Mazdakist movement in Persia, The leader; Mazdak died around 524 to 528 A.D. He claimed to be a prophet of God. He believed in communal living, free love and living off the land as a vegetarian

Around 1956 and 1974, the Counterculture Movement (known as the Hippie Movement) held strong in the UntiedKingdom and the UntiedStates. Hippies went against the social mainstream of what society expects us to act. Hippies were not considered normal in the views of the mainstream. They were trouble makers, anti-war, anti-government and bums, according to how they were perceived.

The peak time for this movement was between 1965to1972. Even though the 60s are more remembered for the Hippy era. This was the time for experimentation with free love, living free off the land, communal living and psychoactive drugs. Pop music and bands from Brittan emerged, and then traveled to America. The Beatles were at the height of this time in history. Many songwriters followed from England to make it in America. They encourage the hippy movement more with their music.

As part of the hippy movement which represent anti-war, the peace sign was designed and first used in Britain in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, became a major symbol of the counterculture era.
