George Foreman Grilling Machine for Healthy Cooking

George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine

George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine is a must have for one, two or three people, as in my small family. I love this easy grilling appliance.

When my husband asked for one of these little cooking machines for Christmas, I thought he was nuts. Why would I spend that kind of money on something that does the same thing when cooking in a frying pan?

Since it was a Christmas gift and it was something different then his usual, “Get me a pair of jeans and some underwear.” I figured he was worth it.

Why do I love this grilling machine?

  1. It has a non-stick surface. Making it easy to clean, provided you clean it while it is still warm (mine doesn’t have removable plates). It is still easy to clean if you don’t clean it right away, though a little messier. But the non-stick surface is the key, wiping it down with a paper towel while still warm then just soap and water with a kitchen cloth.
  2. Grilling the food taste just as good as grilling it outdoors. But without the mess and time preparation.
  3. Cooks faster than a skillet on the stove.
  4. This grill is great for cooking hamburger, chicken breast, fish, shrimp and vegetables.
  5. Minimize direct contact with the food being grilled so that as much fat as possible can be drained. The fat is collected in a removable drip tray. This has been marketed as a way to "knock out the fat," which is presumably a more healthy way to cook.

I love the idea of an appliance automatically draining the meat, such as hamburger away from the source. Where does the grease go when you fry hamburger in a pan?

This is why the George Foreman Grill is called the healthy way to cooking.

If you have a larger family, try George Foreman Family Size Plus Grills.
