Fireworks Facts
Fireworks were invented by the Chinese in the 12th century to scare away evil spirits. Rightly so that China is the largest manufacturer and exporter of fireworks in the world. These beautiful magically light displays are celebrated around the world.
Fireworks are either ground or aerial and in most displays they are both. A display will light the sky from miles away in brilliant colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, silver and even white.
There are four primary types of effects of fireworks: noise, light, smoke, and floating materials such as confetti streamers. This enchanting display of light can have shapes or hearts, triangles, stars and more. Skyrockets are the most common form of firework displays, though the first fireworks were used in war.
The grand finale is shooting off several tubes or cases all at once of different types.
We celebrate with this colorful display for cultural, religious and holiday celebrations.
China’s most common festivities are the Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. America has Memorial Day and Independence Day. Other countries who celebrate with fireworks but not limited to are: the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Australia, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Switzerland, France and Chile.
We recorded our own fireworks finale at the Memorial Day weekend celebration as shown below. Find me on Youtube as sandyspiderbite.
